Swiss Days!

Every year the girls in my family (mom, sister, & sister-in-law) head to Midway for Swiss Days. For those of you who have never been, it is crazy women shopping for lots of crap! Let me say that again.....thousands of women shopping in tiny space of a football field, for lots of crap. But it is oh so fun & we never miss it. Our husbands are so kind to stay home with the kids, which makes it all the more fun! So we left Thursday night and did some shopping at the mall & at the P.C. outlets, with a stop for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

Friday morning we were up bright and early, the booths at Swiss Days open at 8:00a.m., but you have to start the shopping off the right way.....by having the biggest scone you've ever had for breakfast. We shopped and shopped some more, did some 'people watching', and 3 hours later we were done, and we think we came away with some great purchases.

After our fun-filled day of shopping, lunch, and being lazy, the rest of our families made their way up to Midway. We've decided that it is crazy for all 14 of us to try and go to dinner anywhere in the small but lovely town of Heber. So we all went our separate ways, grabbed dinner, and met up at the park to eat. This was a brilliant idea, no crowds, the kids could be as loud as they wanted, and sweet entertainment at the park after.

Saturday (mom & dad) decided it would be fun to go back over to Swiss Days with the kids. What a great idea, thousands of shoppers & our kids, that should be WAY fun! But we did it, and the kids enjoyed some ghetto bouncy things & we all enjoyed a 'Swiss taco' for lunch. I guess it was fun! The rest of the afternoon was set aside for football & another visit to the park. Half of us left for home Saturday night, and we came home this afternoon.....a very fun weekend!

Cheap Entertainment.....Sprinklers!

Bored kids + lazy parents = sprinkler time! Saturday was a lazy day for us, we have way too many cable channels covering the Olympics, and Caiser and I were sucked in all day! We did manage to turn the sprinklers on for the kids, however, they were bored after about 30 minutes and ready for another activity! It was good while it lasted!

Chillin' In the Canyon!

Last night we decided to pack up the fam and head up Big Cottonwood for a little dinner and s'mores. The Mellen's & Nixon's joined, and it was great to be with friends. I don't know why we don't do it more! It was very relaxing and good to get 'out' of the house. The kids enjoyed being right next to the water, and I think Carter was the only one to fall in. The big boys discovered a cave and went exploring, however, Ellie didn't think it was too fun, and I wouldn't even go near it (way too claustrophobic for me)! So after dirt, fire, food, and more food, oh and a lot more dirt, we packed it up......but we"ll be back up there again, soon!
